Maintenance Assistant - Eastwell Manor
The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for assisting the Maintenance Manager with the internal and external maintenance of all buildings and engineering services on the estate in a safe, cost effective and efficient manner ensuring a high standard of appearance and smooth running for the enjoyment and comfort of Champneys’ guests.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with maintaining the exterior and interior fabric of all buildings on the estate including decoration, to a high standard.
- Assist with a programme of planned maintenance and ensure this is undertaken with minimum disruption to guests and facilities.
- Assist with all general repairs with minimum disruption to guest services.
- Have an understanding of and assist with adherence to Health and Safety and other statutory regulations and company policies and procedures, ensuring these are considered and complied with at all times, reporting any issues to management without delay.
- Undertake any other maintenance duties as may reasonably be required from time to time.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications
- A relevant trade qualification from an accredited body would be desirable.
Experience
- The ideal candidate will have had some previous experience in a busy maintenance role ideally in the leisure/hospitality industry and will display a willingness to learn.
Skills
- Well presented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Practical skills, displaying a willingness and ability to tackle most DIY roles.
- Good Carpentry skills with experience in decorating and general building.
- Excellent Computer and system skills.
Knowledge and Understanding
- Demonstrates understanding of Fire Safety and Health and Safety legislation to ensure a safe working environment at all times.
Other requirements
- A team player with a positive and can do attitude.
- Friendly, helpful and approachable.
- Flexible to work hours as required subject to rota, including evenings and weekends.
