Job Details

An IT Project Manager at Prezzo delivers IT Projects (both system and business change) on time and within budget with excellent planning and communication throughout. They are responsible for the planning, delegating, monitoring and control of all aspects of one or more projects and the motivation of those involved, to achieve the project objectives with the expected performance targets for time, costs, quality, scope, benefits and risk.
The Project Manager could expect to oversee medium to large sized and/or more complex projects, potentially across multiple areas of the business and with increased levels of risk / opportunity and degrees of ambiguity.

The IT Project Manager will build strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers, whilst ensuring they have the gravitas and technical expertise to get buy-in at all levels of the business. Day to day activities will include managing project initiations (business cases, requirements gathering etc..), Planning (project planning, resource planning, managing suppliers etc.) and Delivering projects effectively.

Responsibilities:
• Project Management: Oversee the delivery of a specific project from initiation to closure, taking responsibility for the key project management elements, including initiation, project planning, monitoring and control (to time, cost, quality, scope, and management of risk control), and successful transition to BAU and closure (including benefits realisation)
• Project Management: For the life of the project, ensure that it is supported by the appropriate organisational and governance structure and has the correct resources in place to deliver to the agreed milestones. This could be an appropriate mix of internal and external resources.
• Project Management: Ensure best practice around project management and a professional approach to the delivery of change within the business. Inspire and encourage innovative approaches, in order to bring about more effective and commercial ways to realise benefits.
• Risk & Issue Management: Ensure correct procedures are followed to manage all risks (opportunities & threats), issues and dependencies associated with the project(s). Include ensuring they are properly documented, reported and actively managed, proposing appropriate action and accompanied by effective communication throughout the process.
• Team Development: Promote teamwork, honesty and trust with all key stakeholders, suppliers and consultants, building partnerships to collectively delivery excellent results. Gain commitment, set and monitor clear and motivating objectives.
• Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain effective communication channels with peers, stakeholders and the wider business to ensure engagement, support and delivery of the project’s outcomes and therefore ultimately its benefits vision.
• Change Management: Ensure the impacts of change, brought about by the delivery of the project, and ensure that an effective change management plan is in place to maintain consistency of delivery, optimise benefits and contribute to a healthy change experience for all. If necessary, specialise resources should be engaged.
• Personal Development: Take an active role in own learning and development, giving and receiving regular and honest feedback, in order to improve performance of oneself and the team
• Supplier management: Work with suppliers to get the best output from them.
• Governance: Attendance at governance and steering group meetings to gain the required outcomes (Project Board Review, CABs, Steering Groups, etc.)

• Strong project and team management skills
• Flexible approach to change with a positive attitude to fluctuating workload and prepared to work individually or as a team.
• Continuously self-motivates and works well in a team.
• Commercial and value management skills including ability to interpret and work with financial appraisal and ability to develop business cases.
• Educated to degree level or equivalent
• PRINCE2 qualification desirable
• Accountability:
• Manage the delivery of one or more projects through the Indirect management of the project teams (up to 10 team members per project)
• Ability to build and manage relationships at all levels and influence senior stakeholders and indirect reports
• Ability to work confidently at all levels throughout a business
• Support the shaping and development of programmes & projects to deliver the overall business strategy
• Responsible for delivery of project to budget and supporting the development of business cases.
• Expertise:
• Experience delivering projects in a formal project manager role
• Experience managing a team consisting of internal and external resources, and 3rd party supplier
• Experience building managing and influencing diverse relationships across a business
• Demonstrable experience facilitating to a varied audience
• Experience operating in a challenging organisational environment with a requirement to balance differing priorities and demands.
