Club Manager - Milton Keynes

Principal Tasks:

Manage and develop the club, ensuring the reputation and brand remain outstanding and compliant with all legal requirements, including H&S and Employment. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring that all relevant policies and procedures written in the Employee Handbook and Employee Health and Safety Handbook are adhered to by everyone
  • Be appointed as the Child Protection Officer for the club
  • Create and coordinate staff rotas, ensuring the right coaches teach the classes most suitable to their qualifications and experience 
  • Ensure there is an adequate amount of coaching staff for class delivery
  • Lead the continual recruitment and assessment of staffing requirements 
  • Ensure all coaches are fully qualified and frequently mentored, ensuring they complete all safety and child welfare training
  • Provide guidance, mentoring and direction to all staff and coaches including regular performance reviews 
  • Assist in training needs and initiate development activities of coaches
  • Maintain cleanliness of the facilities for a great customer experience
  • Deal with prospects in a professional manner whilst showing them the facilities and assisting them with the online joining process
  • Deal with any necessary administration and member issues, which includes, but is not limited to, answering the telephone, returning messages left on the answering machine, report submission and responding to relevant e-mails
  • Deliver outstanding customer service at all times to both members and prospects 
  • Organise and hold regular staff meetings
  • Ensure the club safety is maintained and club safety checks are completed and recorded weekly 
  • Lead on creating an environment where all employees enjoy themselves whilst at work and make a real contribution to the success of the club and business as a whole
  • Manage the club within budgetary constraints
  • Create sales plans to advertise and promote the club to increase usage which may include commissioning and considering market research 
  • Take ownership of daily KPI targets to ensure achievement or over achievement of monthly targets
  • Record and report all accidents and incidents in line with club policies and procedures
  • Oversee and develop annual and monthly timetables that are suitable and adaptive
  • Ensure regular development and implementation of all risk assessments
  • Report and monitor stock levels, identifying opportunities for increased sales 
  • Open and close the site as required by your weekly rota
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties/ projects/ meetings, which may be required from time to time

Applicants will need

  • Extensive management experience ideally in sport, leisure or gymnastics
  • Self-motivation and the ability to motivate others
  • Adaptability and Flexibility
  • Organisation and Planning skills
  • Experience developing and setting weekly rota’s
  • Initiative and leadership skills
  • Teamwork 
  • Confidence leading a team
  • Knowledge and implementation of H&S legislation
  • Sales and Marketing experience 
  • To enjoy working with and developing children
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • The desire to learn and develop a team 
  • Available to work evenings and weekends
