Regional Compliance Manager: East Midlands

We have two exciting opportunities to be part of our Regional Compliance team in the East Midlands. Reporting to our Senior Director for Ethics and Compliance you will support the delivery of Asda’s Compliance strategy within either our Retail business across 190 stores or our Logistics business across 5 depots.

You will be responsible for working with management teams to support the compliance culture; from implementation of safety standards through to accident investigation and managing regulatory contact. You will also execute a Compliance monitoring and coaching programme that drives continual improvement in Compliance performance.

You’ll not only be joining one of the largest retailers in the UK but joining Walmart and part of our Global Compliance programme.

Key responsibilities:Act as a principal point of contact on all safety and compliance related matters for our Distribution/Logistics divisionPartner depot management teams to drive compliance culture and continual improvement in compliance performanceCoach and support managers on implementation of safety and compliance policies and standardsDeliver health and safety and other compliance trainingSerious incident management and accident investigationManaging regulatory contact and enforcement challengesMonitoring and auditing safety and compliance performanceLeading specific Compliance projectsDevelop relationships with trade unions at a local, regional and national levelThe ideal candidate:Professionally qualified in health and safety or other relevant discipline, eg. NEBOSH Diploma or equivalentExperienced in enforcement/ regulatory/ commercial experience, preferably in the retail or logistics or transportation sectorsYou will be experienced in coaching and influencing others both internally and externally, delivering tough messages and managing upwardsYou will have excellent written, verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt outputs to appropriate audienceAdept at prioritising your own workload, flexing for planned vs. reactive workload and working independentlyStrong coaching skills, enabler and advisorAn automated site is included in this regions portfolio, experience of safety in automated sites or a desire to expand knowledge in this area is favourable
