About the role:

We have a brilliant opportunity for a Merchandising Manager to join our team in GM Merchandising. This role is on a dynamic trading area which involves working with a blend of well-known brands such as Barbie and our own brand dolls combined with both import and domestic supplies, as well as promotions and events. Merchandising is key to our success, and you’ll help us deliver the goods in this area – making sure that our customers get exactly what they want, exactly when they want it.

The ins and outs:

Driving the business to potentialise profit in-season. This is particularly challenging due to high promo sale participation
Developing strong relationships with suppliers
Managing stock levels and ensuring delivery into the warehouse within agreed time scales
Managing product critical path and lifecycle to ensure launch availability and full availability on continuity lines
Accurate forecasting of sales, stock turn and markdown to achieve maximum profit
Planning of markdown activity
Analysis of sales data to provide recommendations for range control, budgeting and selection for future seasons
Co-ordination and progressing of all orders including raising supplier contracts
Working closely with the buying team to further understand our customer needs and competitor activity

What you’ll need:

A proven track record in Merchandising
Strategic thinking in how to manage the financials of this category whilst managing a position of market dominance and price leadership
Ability to thrive in a demanding, fast-paced environment
Enthusiasm to take responsibility and progress in your career in Merchandising
Good level of numeracy with an expert level of Excel
Personal skills to work with people at all levels
Flair for solving problems and making decisions
