About the role:

You will be responsible for supporting the Category Technical team in delivering compliance, due diligence and Legal Compliance requirements for a number of Food Categories. Your role will be integral in supporting the category in all aspects of supplier technical compliance and enabling Asda to become Britain’s most trusted retailer by leading the right way with all our stakeholders and delivering Legal Compliance requirements in your accountable categories and throughout our team.

The Ins and Outs:

Deliver product and supplier compliance across ASDA supply base for products we sell to our customers.
Deliver rigorous investigation and robust documented closeout of all non-compliance using agreed processes.
Deliver actions and agreed and update Ways Of Working to support close out of applicable Internal Audit actions.
Be a key member for technical compliance in your accountable areas, working cross functionally to support the delivery of the food technical strategy.
Ensure all visits and audits are completed as required after following a consistent robust and documented risk assessment.
Support the delivery of Technical related projects to completion enabling UK and/or Walmart global strategies.
Work as a key operational member with Trading and Asda brand in your category championing a positive culture of compliance, whilst supporting your colleagues to do the right thing in the way that supports our trading agenda.
Ensure business continuity plans and contingency sites are in place for key supply risks in your category.
Ensure all Manufacturing specifications for AB in the HIVE are agreed and meet our compliance protocols for your categories.
Ensure all supplying sites are on the HIVE and have required compliance documentation associated for the category.
Support the team in the development, engagement (internal and external) and delivery of policies or processes relevant to your category areas to ensure compliance are embedded and successful at point of launch.
Use data insight to identify trends and take appropriate action to address opportunities in your categories.
Take responsibility for your own development, taking advantage of stretch opportunities that are identified.

What you’ll need:

A relevant science qualification to minimum of HND level OR relevant experience in food/product related manufacturing environment
Solid understanding of process and production in food categories
The ability to “make a difference”, with a commercial instinct
A proactive approach to getting things done with plenty of motivation and initiative
Strong interpersonal, organisational and management skills
An ability to take responsibility for your own development
Meat/ Poultry experience would be an advantage
