Are you fed up of preparing Banquets, Weddings and working until the early hours 6 days a week & every weekend?

Here at CHAMPNEYS we offer 4 day working patterns & every other weekend off! And not only that, you’ll be out the kitchen by 10pm!

We are looking for talented and passionate chefs to join our team at Champneys Health Forest Mere resort.  Currently we have the following roles;

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. The preparation, presentation and service of food items for customers, staff and functions, using standardised recipes, to the quality standards set by the executive head chef to which will be fine dining.
  2. To participate with the compilation of breakfast, lunch, dinner and staff menus.
  3. Gain a working knowledge of the Champneys Healthy Eating Philosophy.
  4. To participate in the training of Commis Chefs, Kitchen Porters
  5. To participate in the daily ordering of food items using recommended suppliers.
  6. Participate in maintaining a high standard staff moral, ensuring effective employee relations and interdepartmental working relationships.
  7. Responsible for utilizing food items to maximize the overall profitability of the food and beverage department.
  8. Responsible to maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance (full uniform must be worn whilst on duty and ensure other staff members do the same).
  9. To keep all kitchen and work areas clean and tidy at all times and observe all food handling and COSHH regulations.
  10. To attend and contribute to all kitchen and resort training meetings when required.
  11. Responsible for reporting any Health & Safety hazards immediately to the senior person on duty.
  12. Assistance in ensuring that all menu items, are available in service areas throughout service times, and that restaurant staff are aware of the ingredients contained in each dish.
  13. Ensuring the kitchen and dining room areas are secured at the end of the evening and all equipment is switched off and secure
  14. Ensuring all food preparation is achieved if there are shortages of staff
  15. Responsible for being fully conversant with Resort/Department fire and bomb procedures.
  16. Responsible for security of the kitchen ensuring all windows and doors are securely locked and that the correct key procedure is followed.
  17. To assist with any additional functions/parties when required.
  18. Responsible for participating in the weekly Chefs demonstration.
  19. Responsible for the upkeep of the food temperature sheets, kitchen cleaning rota and the delivery and displayed food temperature sheets.
  20. Responsible for performing any other related duties/responsibilities that may be required of you.
