Junior Sous Chef - The Woolly Sheep Inn, Skipton
Working in a supportive role for the Sous Chef, to ensure a smooth and effective running of the day to day operation. Proactively driving strategies to effect product enhancement and operating efficiencies within the kitchen. Achieving optimum financial returns for the company, whilst ensuring highest levels of employee and guest satisfaction. Training and working with all cook and culinary staff in order to prepare, cook and present food according to the standard of the pub.
Job Functions (include the following, however this list is not exhaustive):
- Ensures an exceptional, individual experience for all guests.
- Identifies to the Sous Chef the potential candidates for promotion within the Brigade.
- Assists in the setting up and implementation of training records for the CDP and Commi Chefs.
- Assists in the process of photographing and recipe building of all starters and main courses.
- Implements all recipes for basic, stocks, sauces, dressings, etc.
- Trains and develops all the above disciplines to all junior members of staff.
- Prepares and updates the departmental training manual.
- Any other task required to contribute to the workflow of the pub.
Job Requirements:
- Must be eligible to work within the UK.
- Must be able to communicate comfortably in both, written and spoken English.
- Previous supervisory experience essential and within a similar Kitchen environment would be preferable.
- Thorough working knowledge of hot and cold food preparation.
- Must possess basic computer skills.
- Good working knowledge of accepted sanitation standards and applicable health codes.
