As a Fitness Instructor, part of your role is to inspire people to train independently and keep coming back. So, it all starts with an induction, for you to understand someone’s ability and ambitions – and ultimately, devise a bespoke programme that best suits their needs. As a real people-person, this will come naturally as you quickly build people’s trust and confidence. Of course, you’ll also need knowledge of health and safety legislation and the following qualifications: NVQ level 2 Fitness Instructor (minimum requirement) & First Aid at work (an advantage but can be provided). Experience in a fitness centre is an advantage, but not essential.

We are looking for only the most enthusiastic, professional and passionate candidates. As a fitness Instructor, your duties will include:

• Delivering a high-level experience for the club’s members through the following: Member interaction, gym floor classes, excellent customer service and the new member induction process
• Assist members with their individual fitness goals, delivering in-depth inductions and programme reviews.
• Ensure that all members are interacted with and receive the highest level of customer service at all times.
• Ensure that the maintenance and cleaning of the gym is kept to the premium standard of The Thames Club
• Actively aim to achieve the targets set by the Fitness Manager, completing tasks to the best of your ability.
• Lead fun and engaging gym floor classes encouraging members of all abilities to participate.
• Ensure that all equipment is placed in the correct areas after use.
