Purpose of the role:

  • Deliver the  food and beverage strategy in order to achieve budgeted commercial returns. Drive consistent standards and profit performance through effective selection of resource, inspiration and development of Meetings & Events teams This role is all about driving quality and value that ensures great guest experiences, by being obsessed about standards and hospitality, then leading and challenging team members to achieve the highest levels of service.

Achieve 1000 comment cards with clean data entries per annum

Key Accountabilities:

1. Strategy:

  • Ensure the meetings & events team deliver a consistent standard of hospitality whilst maintaining brand standards WOW our conference guests with your enthusiasm and attention to detail from welcome through to their farewell Oversee and participate in the set up and service of meeting rooms, always with a

keen eye for detail

2. Brand Delivery

  • Ensure brand standards are delivered consistently using the appropriate training resources toolkits and audit to measure improvement and drive quality. Ensure that the meetings & events team are working to our excellence brand standards meeting and/or exceeding their own personal objectives. Deliver pre shift briefings that will not only drive the team but additionally ensure they consistently deliver our customer service incentives. Promote and create intensity around excellence, which will drive performance of the meetings & events team members.

3. Product Knowledge

  • Ensure all team members are technologically savvy; they should be able to operate, demonstrate and instruct AV equipment safely and efficiently Oversee the safe storage and of all meetings & events equipment. Drive your team with a passion for food & beverage; serve with confidence and flare whilst utilise your own knowledge of upselling at every opportunity. Ensure team members have the knowledge they require for our meeting space  to ensure our teams can utilisation for our guests.

4. Sales & Marketing:

  • Support the meetings & events office team with sales and marketing – for example assisting with open events, wedding fairs etc Engage with the sales teams to ensure best use of all familiarisation trips – to ensure we are selling the property and space to its maximum Maintain an effective relationship with the sales team, offering solutions and advice for all bookings and always keeping ahead of the game.

5. People Development

  • Share experiences and personal passion to lead and embed training to impact on overall  hospitality and brand standards Recruit team members who embody the role model descriptions of the high performance behaviours. Using the KPIs, benchmark individual team member’s performance in terms of hospitality and standards through our online appraisal system review their performance against the five high performance behaviours.

6. Commercial

  • Review wage cost and ensure staffing levels are at the appropriate levels to drive conversion, utilising tools such as Rota Horizon. Ensure all relevant procedures and best practice are in place e.g. members of staff with the correct level of authorisation to conduct voids and refunds. Responsible for the M&E bar stock take result. Think creatively and have business acumen in relation to financial matters- get involved in the financial performance and targets to assist in the overall profitability of the department.

7. Team Liaison

  • Work effectively with other departments within the hotel Comply with the Food Safety and Health and Safety procedures as specified by the CMI and internal audits and achieve a minimum of 85%.  Role model the five high performance behaviours.
