Reporting into the People Business Partner, the People Assistant will provide people related administrative support to our Distribution Centre in Northampton as well as building and maintaining key relationships with stakeholders across multiple sites.

The role;

* Absence Management - Collating and recording daily absence figures using Time & Attendance / Crown Systems along with related paperwork (Medication Forms / Fit Notes / Return to Work Forms). Analysing data with regards to general trends, improvements and declines in site attendance. Referring investigations to the Senior People Advisor in line with the Company Absence Policy

* General People Data Administration - Maintaining Colleague personnel files, being the first point of contact for The People Team on site, co-ordinating monthly Drug & Alcohol testing and producing ad hoc correspondence and communications

* People Cycle Co-Ordination - Manging; pre-employment checks (Eg, right to work documentation), Colleague relation changes in SAP, the process of issuing Probation review documentation and co-ordinating the Company Embarkation and On-Boarding induction for all new starters.

* Colleague Relations - Providing basic colleague relations advice to Line Management and Colleagues, supporting with investigations (correspondence, note taking & outcomes), co-ordinating exit interviews and administration support to the Senior People Advisor and People Business Partner

* Communications / Data Reporting - Producing and distributing weekly People communications for the Site and weekly reports on Key People Data (absence, turnover, starters & Leavers)

* Engagement Activity - Managing and co-ordinating Company Rewards and Recognition for the Site (Nibbles Rewards, Long Service, Birthdays, Weddings, Best of Bunch, etc.) and liaising with the Engagement Business Partner to co-ordinate periodic engagement activity

About you;

* Previous administrative experience within an office environment (Essential)

* Previous experience in a colleague relations administration role (Preferable), and some level of colleague relations experience within a retail business (Beneficial)

* A willingness to complete a professional People Qualification (CIPD)

* The ability to be flexible around business needs as and when required

* Respect for confidentiality

* Good questioning and listening skills

* Excellent communication skills

* Customer handling/people skills

* Planning and organisation skills

* IT skills in particular Word, Excel and Microsoft Outlook

* Attention to detail
