Our Own Brand Commercial Strategy team are an exciting and fast paced department within our Commercial function, focussed on translating our Own Brand strategies and guidelines into compelling category level plans that drive positive customer perception, Own Brand participation, sales and volume growth, in line with our targets.

The Ins and Outs:

You will be responsible for the deployment of our Own Brand portfolio in the Produce, Bakery, Meat, Fish and Poultry categories, focussing on the following:

• Be the guardian of Own Brand in your categories and engage key stakeholders on the brand strategy to ensure consistent execution
• Effectively utilise sales, market and customer data to build compelling category level plans that drive Asda Own Brand - identifying issues we need to fix and further opportunities for growth
• Be an expert on Own Brand performance, reviewing available weekly and monthly reports and measure ongoing performance against targets
• Lead the creation of the Product and Packaging briefs in your categories, ensuring all development is aligned to Own Brand strategies and guidelines
• Identify the need for new brands or labels based on customer insight that reflect trends and changing customer needs
• Autopsy new brand launches and seasonal events, pulling out clear learnings and recommendations
• Work with the Marketing and Internal Comms teams to ensure our Own Brand priorities are communicated effectively across appropriate comms channels

What you’ll need:

Ideally, you will have worked in a similar commercial or brand strategy role, with Own brand and Commercial experience being a distinct advantage. You will possess:

• Drive, tenacity and a passion for brands and products
• Strong commercial acumen – excellent analytical skills and the ability to commercialise opportunities
• Ability to understand and interpret insight and data
• A talent for influencing people
• Ability to energise, engage and inspire at all levels
• Ability to shift thinking between big picture & day to day issues
• A proactive team player, with strong interpersonal and organisational skills
