Overview of the role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a People Development Assistant to join our People Development team to gain experience in a fast paced human resources generalist office. You will support the team in managing all human resources and training related activities within the property and taking ownership of recruitment activities to support the Heads of Department.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Placing job adverts on the relevant platforms and managing our applicant tracking system
• Screening CV’s and conducting candidate searches as well as telephone interviews where necessary
• Organising & coordinating interviews with the relevant managers
• Coordinating, preparing and collating on-boarding packs including offer letters and contracts of employment
• Managing the hotel’s online e-learning platform including monitoring and tracking departmental training completion
• Handling and storing personal data in line with the General Data Protection Regulations
• Assisting with the organisation and coordination of colleague events
• Ordering and organising colleague uniform and issuing this to colleagues in line with our company uniform policy
• Undertaking paper and electronic filing, photocopying and general office duties
• Dealing with general queries both face to face and telephone and handing these over to the relevant person.

This role will expose the successful candidate to HR processes and procedures which will provide a strong foundation to a career in HR.

• Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills along with the confidence to communicate with colleagues and management at all levels
• Be highly organised and identify priorities effectively, balancing importance, urgency and resources
• Able to work well under pressure in what can be a demanding role on occasions
• Possess great written skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Able to develop and maintain effective internal and external working relationships
• Demonstrate a readiness to make decisions, take the initiative and originate action.
