Job Details

GLL is looking for a part time Community Sports Officer for our leisure centres based in Kensington and Chelsea, West London. Here at GLL, one of our key aims is to make sport and fitness available and accessible to the communities in which we operate. We are investing in our facilities and need a passionate Community Sports Officer to help us develop community participation in sport.

This is an interesting role that will use your passion for sport as well as your people skills. The main objective of the role is to interact with the community to encourage and increase participation in sport. You will be dealing with a range of people as diverse as school children, the elderly, religious and ethnic groups, so you will need to have excellent communication skills to be able to relate to each type of person. You will work closely with the General Managers, Partnership Managers and the local authority to assess the sports that you will be promoting as well as your methods and successes.

Ideally, you will have a degree in sports development or a sport-related subject and be able to demonstrate your experience of working in the field such as coaching and teaching. Although working as part of a wider team, you will be expected to manage yourself and your own workload and will be self-sufficient. You will be comfortable dealing with stakeholders at all levels and adept at giving presentations. A creative thinker, you will thrive on devising new initiatives to work with the community to foster their participation in sport and exercise.

In return, we offer a range of benefits that you'd expect from the UK's largest leisure provider:

  • Pension schemes
  • Childcare vouchers
  • Ride to work scheme
  • Discounted membership at our leisure centres
  • The opportunity to join the GLL Society and have a say in how we're run plus associated social events
  • Career pathways
  • Ongoing training and development to help you to be the best

If you have the passion and skills for this role, then apply now.

Interviews to be held week commencing 11th June 2018.

All pay rates are subject to skills, experience, qualifications, age and location.

To be shortlisted for the role, internal applicants will need to demonstrate their commitment to GLL by becoming a Society member where eligible.
