Beverage Development Manager - Shore Based - Southampton

Carnival UK is looking for an exceptional Beverage Development Manager to be responsible for developing an engaging and profitable beverage product with a compelling and innovative marketing, merchandising and promotional approach for our distinguished guests travelling on our Cunard brand.

For over 150 years, Cunard’s iconic ships have been defining sophisticated ocean travel. Cunard ships have always been The Most Famous Ocean Liners in the World and this legacy of luxury ocean travel is continued with Cunard’s flagship Queen Mary 2, alongside Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth, with Queen Mary 2 providing the only regularly scheduled transatlantic service between Southampton and New York. 

Overall purpose of the role

. Within this role’s primary responsibility is to:

• Develop an engaging and profitable beverage product for our guests, focussing on beers, wines, spirits and mixed drinks.
• Drive an innovative and desirable alcoholic beverage offer to maximise revenue opportunities
• Support the wider Food & Beverage team, on ship and on shore, with beverage initiatives, fleet-wide promotions and improvements to our service approach

You will be strategic in your approach to the development of the alcoholic product portfolio, utilising your own experience, industry best practice and existing internal resources.  We will be wanting you to identify revenue opportunities and range recommendations, aligned to our guest profile and to the brand.  You will champion new product development and be on top of drinks industry trends and insight.  To bring your initiatives to life on board our ships, you will engage with the Beverage Buyer, the Guest Experience team, the F&B Services group both ship and shore and the marketing teams to ensure that revenue opportunities and guest experience are maximised.

 

 

About You

For this role you will have experience within the provision of a broad and constantly evolving product range, strong creativity, with experience in retail and on-premise consumption environment being a strong advantage.  You will have a proven successful background in drinks, particularly wines, spirits and cocktails. A good understanding of the technical aspects associated with beverage, bars & dining is ideal, with experience of contract negotiation and supplier management.  This role is focused on the guest experience, and how our beverage offerings onboard meet requirements, so being customer focussed is essential.

This role is shore based at our Southampton HQ, however there may be some travel to the ships if required.
