Portfolio/PMO Analyst (12 month FTC) - Shore Based - Southampton

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Portfolio Analyst to work within the Portfolio Management Team at Carnival UK’s Head Office in Southampton on a 12 month fixed term contract (FTC) to cover maternity leave. The Portfolio Management team is the both the planning and reporting hub for all of the projects and programmes within the Technology Change Portfolio; as such it is responsible for both defining and assuring the Technology Change Portfolio in CUK.

 

The Role:

This is a 12 month fixed term contract (FTC) to cover maternity leave. It will involve to supporting the delivery of the Technology Portfolio in line with the agreed portfolio delivery plan whilst ensuring adherence to the governance framework and project standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains portfolio data in an accurate and timely manner and monitors progress at an individual and portfolio level against portfolio delivery plan, highlighting impact of variation where necessary

  • Produces regular portfolio reporting for senior management and governance groups

  • Ensures adoption of and adherence to the Portfolio Management Framework across designated projects. Carries out assurance activities as required

  • Provides expertise and maintenance of the tools required to support portfolio governance, resource management and reporting

  • Provides views of capacity for people, environments, and impact of changes to ship and shore

  • Provides reports to senior management on compliance with time recording policy

  • Where appropriate, works with agencies and resource managers to co-ordinate the recruitment approval process

  • Ensures projects adhere to financial management processes and that baseline portfolio data is maintained in line with Finance records

  • Issues regular portfolio level communications

 

Experience & Skills:

  • Experience of programme or project support or of managing projects.

  • Experience of or exposure to the end to end project lifecycle, or managing substantial parts of the project lifecycle.

  • Experience of working within a structured portfolio management framework and of delivering a change portfolio around an agreed portfolio delivery plan.

  • Knowledge of portfolio, programme and project management tools and techniques.

  • Is fully familiar with the Portfolio Management Framework (Governance/ Lifecycle/ templates) and some familiarity with standard project management techniques and their application in a real project environment

  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft packages, including Project and Visio with Excel knowledge at an intermediate to advanced level
