Supervisor​ - LANG - Shangri-La Hotel, At The Shard, London

Located in the heart of St Thomas Street, surrounded by Borough Market, London Bridge Station and the bustle of SE1 and the City, our high-end Artisan Deli, 廊 Láng, will offer morning coffees and pastries, grab and go items throughout the day, artisanal quality lunch and tea items, afternoon tea sets, signature cakes, chocolates, macaroons and packaged savoury items and salads as well as a variety of beverages.

We have an amazing opportunity for a Láng Supervisor to join our ground floor high-end Artisian Deli Láng.

The Role

The Láng Supervisor will be responsible for providing the finest personalised service by adhering to Food and Beverage brand standards and by engaging with our guests and creating memorable experiences for them. Deputising in the absence of a manager, the Láng Supervisor will take responsibility for Láng during a shift. He/She will supervise a team of Waiters/Waitresses in order to make sure that service is consistently perfect. He/She will support management with all departmental training matters, including H&S, food hygiene and training. He/She will ensure that the F&B team achieves profitability and growth in line with our Core Values (humility, courtesy, respect, helpfulness and sincerity) at all times.

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant experience in a similar role
  • Excellent guest engagement skills
  • Team leader/builder
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Fluent in English (both oral and written)

Responsibilities include, but not limited:

  • To create an engaging experience with the guests at all times
  • To anticipate guest needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests.
  • Handles minor complaints and reports them to the Manager or Assistant for proper action
  • To ensure  opening, closing and cleaning duties are fulfilled as defined by the respective checklists
  • Performs his/her duties in a way that upholds our Core Values (humility, courtesy, respect, helpfulness and sincerity) and Code of Conduct at all times
  • To foster and promote a cooperative working climate, maximizing productivity and employee morale; To take care of the well-being and motivation of all employees
  • To understand outlet’s business target
  • To be aware of Hotel standards and policies
