If you’re passionate about hospitality and enjoy working in a fast-paced and busy restaurant then look no further; The Pearson Room is looking for an energetic and service driven Events Manager to join us in one of the most contemporary and fashionable cocktail Bar and Restaurant’s which Canary Wharf has to offer. You will be a passionate, enthusiastic and charismatic individual able to deliver premium service with excellent standards; we are looking for someone who can deliver a 5 star service, giving the customer journey a great experience and ensuring that their expectations are always met, if not exceeded.

The Events Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing events, as well as the marketing and strategic delivery of events at The Pearson Room. They control the whole project from start to finish and ensure a smooth operation for the client, ensuring that the restaurant staff are fully involved are fully briefed on the day’s schedule.

This is a busy and varied role which will involve handling numerous inquiries, including reservations, and hosting private parties, private dining, weddings and christenings on a weekly basis. You’ll be responsible for showing new customers around The Pearson Room for weddings and parties and you’ll also be working closely with chefs and the bar manager on menus and wine lists in order to create extraordinary experiences for all guests. In order to ensure everything runs smoothly, you’ll be on hand at major events, managing and working closely with the reception team in order to ensure that guests receive outstanding levels of customer service at all times.

As well as being an outstanding organiser, you will also demonstrate good business acumen in monitoring and maximising sales, training and development of members of the team, exceptional organizational skills using the reservations system and customer database, and collating data for the finance team. You’ll be working closely with our group marketing team to ensure that bespoke events can be promoted on a monthly basis and that the website is up to date and includes menus, wine lists and forthcoming/seasonal events.

We’re looking for somebody who is resilient and confident and able to deal with a wide range of customers and situations with ease. You’ll be familiar working in an environment like ours – a premium, fast paced, customer centric restaurant and you’ll have operational experience and experience managing high volume events. You’ll be commercially astute, a problem solver and have the ability to drive the business forward. We’re also looking for a born leader, someone who is able to demonstrate your previous management experience and provide examples of how you have developed people within your previous teams.
