Shift Pattern and Contracted Hours

Dayshift working 5 out of 6 days Monday to Saturday.

Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a Team Leader to join the People Admin Team based at Greggs House in Newcastle. 

 

The primary focus of the role will be to work closely with the existing Team Leader to supervise the team to ensure the provision of an efficient people information and administration service for the retail regions, ensuring accurate and timely links with relevant departments (eg Payroll, Regional People Teams.).  You will act as a key supportive point of day to day contact for the team, and will also hold administrative responsibilities for a specific area.

 

This will be a very demanding role, requiring the ability to build and maintain good relationships within a team, strong organisational skills, and the ability to stay calm and focused despite a challenging workload.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Working with the existing Team Leader to supervise the People Admin team on a day to day basis
  • Co-ordinating cover and providing support when needed during holidays and other absences
  • Supporting the team and acting as their first point of contact for queries and other issues
  • Ensuring timely and accurate system links, and providing a high standard of support and information to Management and other areas of the business
  • Providing individual members of the team with training and development support
  • Addressing any areas of non-compliance, inconsistent practices or poor performance and providing assistance to rectify these within appropriate timescales
  • Working with the Retail People Admin Manager to review and improve the service provided by the function
  • Supporting the Retail People Admin Manager with reports, projects, presentations and meetings

Skills

  • Previous Line Management responsibilities, including performance management is essential
  • A strong team player, able to build good working relationships at all levels
  • Able to demonstrate a proven desire for excellence in customer service
  • Able to lead by example to quickly gain trust and respect both within the team and with others inc. Current/Recent Performance and Timekeeping/Attendance Record
  • Experienced administrator with the ability to pick up new processes and procedures quickly
  • Proven high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience of, and ability to multi-task and work with multiple priorities calmly and at pace
  • Strong skills in planning, prioritising and organising
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
