Golf Internship Program - Loch Lomond Golf Club

Loch Lomond Golf Club’s Golf Internship Programme provides amazing opportunities for PGA Professionals, Golf Management Graduates and those who want to get a head start in their Golf Career.

This is a comprehensive, 2 x 6 month split programme starting in March 2018. After completing your first season with us at Loch Lomond Golf Club we will assist and encourage you to find a suitable placement that will give you international work experience.  We see this as an essential component to your development at an International Private Members Club.  In year 1 You will work in various roles, specific to Golf Operations and designed to challenge you on a daily basis, whilst developing your skills and talent through a series of learning experiences. During our winter season, from November to March, you will work at an International Golf Club, providing you with additional experience. In year 2 you will return to Loch Lomond Golf Club and be given additional responsibilities within the business.  You will participate in individual and group projects and will responsible for the training and development of others within the team.

Our objective is to create a solid foundation on which you can build your career. Under the guidance of our highly skilled and experienced Golf Operations team and PGA Professionals, you will be trained to assist with the co-ordination of all aspects of golf operations at Loch Lomond including, but not limited to, reservations, events, tuition, starters, practice areas, caddies, retail and outside services. You will also have the unique opportunity to work closely with our Golf Operations Manager and Director of Golf.

Our Training program includes:

• A complete understanding of the Golf Operations department in a 5+ star establishment
• An overview of Loch Lomond Golf Club’s golf course management
• How to use and coordinate the Jonas Tee Time Management System
• All aspects of Professional Shop retail
• Complete tournament management of Club and Member events
• How to coordinate coaching and tuition time with business needs
• The duties of the Service Staff programme from player arrival through until player departure
• The duties of the starter/ranger
• Caddie Master duties – coordinating daily and large event caddie requests
• The function of the Locker Steward and their area
• The level of service offered by a 5+ star establishment
• Developing a winning team with good communication, honesty, mutual respect and achieving clear goals
• Developing a strong business acumen and commercial awareness. How to track Golf Operations budgets and revenues
• Problem solving and thinking on your feet
• Self-development of your knowledge and skills
• Building on the passion and the love of the job you do

First of all we demonstrate what it takes to build a winning culture within a successful business, then we train you how to lead a team before layering on responsibility and accountability which take place during your second season.

Upon successful completion of our Golf Internship Programme you will be rewarded with a Loch Lomond Certificate of Excellence and provided with a pathway to success to further your career.

In addition to salary, 30 days holiday per year, end of season gratuity payment, uniforms, complementary meals and staff discount benefits and golf, we can also arrange accommodation.
