Job role

As a Buying Assistant you will ensure the smooth running of department by providing key administrative support and trend information.

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing the critical path to maintain delivery deadlines whilst producing a commercially viable product
  • Organising and attending fit sessions, sending all relevant comments to Suppliers
  • Raising Buyers worksheets and Supplier contracts
  • Raising label order forms and liaising with packaging and label Suppliers
  • Checking gold seals match specifications
  • Maintaining sample library
  • Preparing samples for sign-off meetings
  • Managing the weekly and daily diary for the department
  • Keeping up to date with the weekly sales reports
  • Forging strong communication channels with stores, making regular visits
  • Building strong relationships with the merchandising team, technical team and senior management team
  • Liaising with PR to ensure samples are available for and returned from all press events
  • Analysing customer buying patterns and trend forecasting through research and competitor shopping

What skills and experience will you need ?

  • A fashion related degree is disrable and some relevant work experience as a Buying Assistant from interning or completing a placement year
  • A full understanding of the B&M Lifecycle
  • A good eye for detail
  • Able to translate the latest trends into commercial products suitable for our customer
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
