IT Network Technician - Liverpool

We are looking for a IT Network Technician (2nd Line Support) that will provide full infrastructure and network support ensuring that Signature Living can operate effectively and securely.

They will be an escalation point for IT technicians within the business, and will be expected to deliver prompt resolutions to issues.

During major incidents ensuring effective communications are sent to all areas of the business,

The business operates throughout the UK 24/7/365 and therefore this role comes with a travel requirement, along with participation on the on-call support rota

A successful IT Network Technician must have certified knowledge & work experience of Cisco data switching. The successful candidate will have great troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail.

The goal of the Signature Living IT department is to deliver a secure, stable IT infrastructure across all locations.

Salary

£21,000 with an additional £1200 for On Call

Responsibilities

  • To provide a key escalation point and reliable IT technical support service, onsite, remotely and via telephone.
  • Commission Cisco network switches and routers. Compiling full commissioning documentation upon completion.
  • Configure appropriate VLANs, QOS and Routing protocols according to specifications
  • Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
  • Make recommendations for change to the IT Manager
  • Participate as an IT project resource as and when required by the business
  • Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems
  • Maintain all support incidents/requests on the company’s internal IT helpdesk
  • Liaise with third parties where appropriate to deliver the IT support

Requirements

  • Proven experience as IT Network Technician or relevant position
  • Experience and ideally certification with the following technologies – preferably (A+, N+, MCP, CCNA)
  • Windows Server 2012 or greater
  • Cisco IOS
  • Cisco ASA
  • VOIP Telephony
  • Office 365
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication ability
  • Outstanding organisational and time-management skills
  • In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
  • Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
  • Understanding of ITIL principles and how they are applied
