Located in Newbury, Berkshire, just off junction 13 on the M4 and 55 minutes away from London by train, The Vineyard is a 5 red star hotel. We are currently recruiting for a Barman/maid to join our Hotel on a full time, permanent contract, working 45 hours per week, 5 out of 7 days, as a 365 day business you may be required to work evenings/weekends/bank holidays.

We are looking for a dedicated and hard working Barman/maid who will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the hotel.

Summary of role:

• To assist the Head Barman and organise the team in all their duties.
• To ensure the cleanliness of all areas, equipment and glassware
• To ensure the safety & security of all areas, stock and guests.
• To be able to serve and recommend beverages in the correct manner.
• To study and improve their knowledge of Bar products.
• To assist in the coaching and training of staff

Main Responsibilities:

1. To ensure each service is organised and prepared for in a professional manner
2. To ensure all equipment is cleaned, maintained and cared for on a daily basis
3. To ensure all Bar Lists are updated and maintained to the highest standard
4. To monitor and control stock levels, usage, requisitions and pricing of products
5. To communicate all feedback, issues and compliments and to effectively deal with them as necessary
6. To attend and arrange training sessions, tastings and seminars where possible to assist the Beverage Team.
7. To assist in the selling and promoting of the hotel and its services through wine events, accolades and competitions where required
8. To keep the storage areas neat, tidy and safe as per company regulations.
9. To abide by Health and Safety Regulations as required by Law
10. To respond to any other reasonable management request

In order to be successful in this role as a Barman/maid you will have a real passion for wine, will be confident and will have a qualification of WSET with experience, preferably within a 4/5* Hotel environment.
