As a Development Centre Coach, you will be uniquely placed to help Chelsea FC Academy develop and recruit under 6’s to under 8 players in the local community to join Chelsea FC Academy.

You will be asked to coach at a local Development Centre and expected to attend all in-service training arranged by staff on behalf of Chelsea Football Club. Staff may be provided with opportunities to potentially coach with the Football Clubs Academy players.

Person Spec:

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum FA Level 3 (UEFA B) Football Qualification (We may at times look for assistant coaches with FA Level 2 qualifications)
  • Valid First Aid & Safeguarding Children certificates
  • Enhanced DBS checked against the ‘barred list’
  • Working towards FA Youth Module 3/Advanced Youth Award
  • To be qualified in Emergency aid / First Aid at Work
  • Knowledge of current methods in coaching
  • Evidence of the ability to plan coaching sessions
  • Experience of coaching players from the Under 5 to Under 11 age groups.
  • Availability during any (or all) of the following times: Evenings, Weekends, School Holidays

Preferred skills

  • Experience working / coaching with U6-U8’s
  • Knowledge of Risk Management and Safeguarding  
  • Knowledge and experience of working with teams and, or grass roots football clubs
  • Experience of community / social inclusion initiatives
  • Have access to own transport
  • Hold a valid passport with the ability to travel across Europe
