Asda are recruiting for a talented User Experience / Web Designer to join Asda's User Experience team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team who can offer you a great working environment and flexible working. Responsibilities
- Working closely with user experience architects, business and product management teams to convert project requirements into high-quality user interactions and interface design.
- Working within corporate brand guidelines to create online guidelines and templates to use across multiple channels and sites.
- Creating new designs for user interfaces across new and existing functionality.
- Adopting best practice in usability and user interface design and providing design guidelines to the wider business teams.
- Presenting to business stakeholders.
- Creating and working with design templates to create and maintain a scalable and consistent web site
- Creating accurate, clear specifications for HTML development
- Providing visual QA comments to and consultation with HTML, Engineering, and Product Management teams.
What you'll need:
- A proven track record in a similar role
- Demonstrable knowledge of website interface and interaction design
- Experience of eCommerce is an advantage but not essential.
- A strong aesthetic sense and excellent attention to detail.
- A command of typography, colour, composition, hierarchy, and an understanding of how to balance these design elements to develop optimal user interface design solutions.
- A good understanding of effective usability and interface design techniques and best practices
- Ability to produce multiple differing concepts for a project
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently without sacrificing a consistently high level of attention to detail
- Proficiency in Sketch, Zeplin, Adobe Creative Suite; Photoshop & Illustrator in particular. Knowledge of inVision an advantage.
- A good working knowledge of platform constraints, browsers and accessibility guidelines.
- Good time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Front-end development experience not essential but an advantage.
- Relevant Bachelors / Masters + relevant commercial experience OR 4+ years relevant experience.
- Experience designing for responsive web, android and iOS mobile apps.
- Sound understanding and knowledge of visual accessibility compliance.
- Expertise using Sketch / Zeplin / Photoshop / inVision.
- Knowledge & experience of eCommerce an advantage.
