Finance Graduate Training Programme

We're here to save people money so they can live better. It's that simple really, but the numbers that go on behind the scenes are quite incredible when you are dealing with 150k colleagues and 500 stores! So our Finance team is made up of three separate areas- Commercial Finance, Financial Controllership & Reporting, and Audit & Specialist Finance. Whatever department you choose, you'll be helping us become the country's most trusted retailer by practicing ethical, transparent and responsible finance.

About the programme:

You will be part of the ASDA Finance training programme for 2 years gaining the experience you require to complete the CIMA qualification. Our aim is to provide rotational placements every 9months across the following teams:

Commercial Finance: Providing financial analysis, support and challenge across a wide range of business areas including Trading, Retail, Property and Online. It's essential that you can understand and drive performance improvements whilst building relationships with the teams that you will be supporting.

Finance Controllership & Reporting: Maintaining a strong control environment that helps the business to deliver its objectives whilst executing and improving our statutory reporting processes. Responsible for delivering key accounting processes and controls to support ASDA's monthly financial statement preparation, in an accurate and timely manner.

Audit & Specialist Finance: This area includes more specialist functions such as Internal Audit & Compliance and Tax & Treasury.

What you'll receive:
  1. Placements that give you real business and financial challenges
  2. Access to a Mentoring scheme and reviews with sponsors of the Finance training programme
  3. Opportunity to develop your network through the training programme
  4. Support through your CIMA studies
  5. Development support throughout your Asda Career
  6. Opportunity to progress and experience a broad range of finance departments at a fast pace
What you'll need:
  1. A positive attitude and a keen willingness to learn - you will need a flexible approach as you take on placements across a range of teams
  2. Ability to make relationships through confident communication skills
  3. An analytical mind, with an eye for detail; a curiosity to understand performance and how things work
  4. To be on track to gain a 2:2 degree qualification

Assessment centres for Finance Graduate programme will take place between June and July 2018, with a start date of September 2018
