Leading by example, your work ethic will set the bar high and you’ll be as interesting and exciting as our award winning ales.  Ideally a professional in your field or one in the making, you’ll remain super cool under pressure and have a passion for setting and delivering outstanding and memorable customer experiences.

Roles and Responsibilities:

JW Lees has an exciting opportunity for a fantastic Brewery Operative to join the team and work between our Brewery, Warehouse and Distribution Department. The role will be predominantly based within the Brewhouse, however the successful individual may be required to support in different departments as and when is required.

Brewery:

  • Filling, movement and stock rotation of containers of up to 36 gallons. 
  • Efficient and safe use of brewery plant equipment.

Warehouse:

  • Receipt of goods into the warehouse.
  • Picking of orders.
  • Loading of distribution fleet vehicles.

Distribution:

  • Safe loading and unloading of full products and empties both at the Brewery and at delivery points.
  • Administration of paperwork such as delivery notes.

Key competencies and skills include:

  • Experience in manual handling and lifting.
  • Good levels of numeracy literacy.
  • Good communication skills with a well organised approach to work.
  • Flexible approach to interdepartmental deployment to suit the needs of the business.
  • Experience of working on own initiative and in a team.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced production and warehousing environment.
  • Counterbalance forklift license is essential.
  • Reach truck license is desirable but not essential.
  • Clamp attachment experience is desirable but not essential.
  • NVQ level 1/level 2 warehousing is desirable but not essential.
