Overview of the role

An exciting opportunity for a Restaurant Supervisor has arisen to join the team at Principal York. Your role will be to support the Bar and Restaurant Manager in leading the team and supervising the day to day operation of The Refectory Kitchen and Terrace. You will ensure guest expectations are met by delivering a warm and intuitive service to create a memorable experience.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Adopt a hands on role within The Refectory Kitchen & Terrace during breakfast, lunch and dinner shifts and when hosting private dinners
  • Lead and motivate the team during each shift to deliver a ‘best in class’ guest service
  • Maximise departmental revenue through engaging with the team and guests
  • Review rota requirements in view of changing business levels to ensure business needs are met
  • Ensure food & beverage outlets are clean, tidy and well presented at all times and all open and close down procedures are followed
  • Support with the departmental administrative duties including those linked to rota’s, training, holidays and new starters
  • Ensure all of the team are well presented at all times in line with set uniform and grooming standards
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and company/hotel standards and procedures, including liquor, data protection, health and safety and food hygieneSupporting other areas of the hotel operation as required.

This is a full time role working 40 hours a week, any 5 days over 7 on a rota basis.

The Ideal Candidate

As a Food & Beverage Supervisor, it is essential you can display the following:

  • Previous experience of working in a similar supervisory role, ideally within a 4* quality hotel
  • Able to lead and motivate a team with confidence
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills with an eye for detail and the ability to use own initiative
  • Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a positive “can do attitude”
  • Guest focused with a commitment to delivering exceptional levels of guest service
  • Enthusiastic, flexible and willing to learn with a professional, prompt and caring attitude
