Demi Chef de Partie Pastry (Fixed Term Contract) - Shangri-La Hotel, At The Shard, London

Shangri-La at the Shard is seeking a talented Demi Chef de Partie to join our brilliant Pastry team. The Pastry Demi Chef de Partie assumes responsibilities of the assigned area with the assistance and full support of the Pastry Head Chef and Pastry Sous Chef.

The Role

Working under the leadership of the Pastry Chef the Demi Pastry Chef de Partie will take responsibility for the day to day running of various sections in the pastry kitchen, working closely with the pastry sous chef to help junior team members develop their skills.

The Demi Pastry Chef de Partie will actively take part in the fine dining restaurant or private dining service sections as well as afternoon teas with menu creation as part of this role. She/He will also take part in all aspects of health and hygiene record keeping, stock rotation and helping to maintain these standards in the pastry kitchen.

Essential Requirements

  • Culinary qualification
  • Consistent career development to date
  • Working knowledge of Food Safety
  • A working knowledge of chocolate
  • Leadership skills coupled with the ability to train and develop others.
  • Friendly, smiley, sociable and welcoming to our colleagues
  • Attention to detail
  • Oral and written fluency in English
