Assistant Estate Manager / Senior Groundskeeper

Ashdown Park is an historic Country Estate with 186 acres of beautiful grounds carefully maintained and cultivated by our dedicated Estates team. We are seeking an Assistant Estate Manager or Senior Gardener / Groundskeeper to provide support for the manager and deputise in their absence. You will have a demonstrable passion for Horticulture, Ideally to HND level, but NVQ 2 in Amenity Horticulture will be considered alongside previous experience, ideally in an historic garden setting.

You will be experienced in hard and soft landscaping, be familiar with a wide range of garden machinery and equipment, and able to supply practical certification. As well as providing leadership to the Estates team, you will support the learning and development of junior staff enabling them to develop their skills and abilities.

You will need to possess good interpersonal skills as you will be dealing with members of the public, the estates team and reporting regularly to the General/duty manager.

Due to the rural location, you will need to have your own transport

This is a new role and an exciting opportunity to work with an experienced team improving and developing the estate.
