Golf Internship - Dundonal Links - Loch Lomond Golf Club

Hours: Full Time- Two Consecutive Season (May - September)

Dundonald Links is excited to announce a unique career opportunity as we offer our first Golf Internship position. The successful candidate will work as part of a team in a thriving hospitality environment, highly focused on providing exceptional service to the members and guests of Dundonald Links and Loch Lomond Golf Club. The role of the Golf Intern is aimed at those aspiring to a career in the golf industry and offers the opportunity to work in various roles throughout Golf Operations. Our two-year seasonal program will challenge you daily and allow you to develop a range of skills which are required to succeed in a high paced working environment.

Our objective is to create a solid foundation on which you can build your career. Under the guidance of our highly skilled and experienced Golf Operations team and PGA Professionals, you will be trained to assist with the co-ordination of all aspects of golf operations at Dundonald Links including, but not limited to, reservations, events, tuition, starters, practice areas, caddies, retail and outside services. You will also have the unique opportunity to work closely with our Director of Golf.

There are a number of attributes that we look for during the selection process including working as a team player, a positive can-do attitude and flexible approach to work. We require our interns to showcase a desire and passion to succeed in the golfing industry, be either currently studying at university or similar, or recently graduated.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will offer exceptional levels of service to our members and guests.
  • You must be a team player, with good sense of humour, and have the ability to work on your own.
  • Administering all point of sale applications.
  • Green Fee Sales
  • Merchandise Sales
  • Member/Guest Billing
  • Coordinate with Accounts Departments all policy and procedure revisions, updates, and implementation.
  • Reconcile daily tee sheets, perform check-in, and receive payments from members and guests.
  • You must promote all Golf Club Activities and Events at every opportunity.
  • Liaise with the Retail Manager with all aspects of Retail.
  • Assist PGA Professionals with Club Events
  • Provide Administrative support to the Golf Operations Department as needed.
  • Update all Golf and Retail Reports on a daily and monthly basis.
  • You must take an active role to offer opinion and advice in the overall running of the golf operation. This includes attending and contributing to all golf ops meetings.
  • Follow established opening and closing procedures.
  • Perform additional duties when required.

Qualifications:

  • Comfortable working in a high paced working environment.
  • Experience of working at a Private Members Club or High End Resort is preferable.
  • Previous customer service experience a plus, preferably in golf industry.
  • Applicants with other qualifications and/or relevant experience are welcomed and will be considered on an individual basis.
  • Must have a clean driving license.
