Main Responsibilities
Part of Distribution Centre Management team that provides great service to our stores, ensuring customers have great availability and standards of product by ensuring that the Tesco customer experience is taken into account in our daily routines. I lead a team of Warehouse Operatives and ensure their needs are dealt with in a professional and caring manner.  People and Safety first is at the forefront of everything we do.
 
•Meeting the needs of the colleagues in my team by using our people routines and delivering great leadership.
•Ensuring my allocated team of colleagues perform well, provide exceptional service and standards to our customers and enjoy working for Tesco.
•Delivering a proactive and preventative approach to Health & Safety, role modelling behaviour, ensuring legal compliance and safe working practices at all times.
•Strong presence throughout the Warehouse Service operation, making decisions and balancing priorities of Goods In, Assembly, Over The Bank (OTB)//trunking and Goods Out that are referred to me by the Warehouse Service Coordinators or when Management experience is required for problem solving or decision making.
•The delivery of all operational routines and making decisions that have our customers' needs at the heart of what we do.
•Operating in partnership with the Distribution Centre Management team and being a great role model.
•Analysing information, establishing root cause and putting into place corrective improvement measures.
•Delivering exceptional standards across all operational areas of the Warehouse during my shift.
•Working closely with the Delivery Service Team Managers to ensure we deliver the Transport plan.
•Leading and managing my team of colleagues to make sure we work productively and coach/support/manage any colleagues not achieving the targets.
•Planning my teams training needs and developing those who want to get on within Tesco.
•Following our Business Code of Conduct and Data Protection Law, always acting with integrity and due diligence.

The Ideal Candidate
•I role model great standards of dress and am accountable for the standards in my department/area(s).
•I work a variety of shifts so I spend time with my team and the operation has the required level of Management cover.
•I am responsible for the implementation of the change plan(s) throughout my reporting area(s); communicating and engaging with colleagues in the delivery and sustainability of all change.
•I actively participate in all fun at work and charity activities.
•I am a fully validated and competent Duty Manager and take part in the Duty Rota as required.
•I have a great relationship with the Safety and Union Representatives' in my Distribution Centre and use these colleagues to help me and my team to be the best we can be.
•I produce my objectives and personal development plan, seeking guidance from my Manager and People Partner, to ensure it pushes the boundaries and is measurable throughout the year.
