Service Manager - Operations - Gillingham

Salary: Up to £24,000 DO

Hours: Full-time to include evenings and weekends

We are recruiting for a Service Manager - Operations for Roko Health Club Gillingham. The role of Service Manager - Operations is a highly rewarding and challenging role in which you have accountability and responsibility for club operations.

Roko Health Club Gillingham is Medway's premium family health club. With a great location and links to the M2 it is the club of choice for Gillingham, Rainham and the surrounding towns. The club has it "all under one roof" with a huge state of the art gym, 2 pools, over 90 classes per week in 4 studios, spa facilities, beauty salon, crèche, family activity zone and coffee lounge.

You will be an experienced leisure professional enabling you to ensure exceptional customer service and operational excellence is delivered.

Your role will involve:

  • You will be accountable for the effective running of the day to day operation of the club.
  • Ensuring that both front and back of house teams exceed performance targets with regard to member safety & satisfaction.
  • Managing all aspects of the operation with the sole aim of ensuring that members & guests receive an all-round engaging club experience every time, all of the time.
  • Ensuring a welcoming & professional service is delivered throughout the club that ultimately encourages continued and frequent club use.
  • Actively provide good customer service and deal with all member queries in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Ensure that all elements of club service are delivered with an excellent standard of Safety, Health & Hygiene following correct procedures. 
  • You will be responsible for club health & safety and line manage the Clean Team and Lifeguard Team.
  • Manage the Duty Management Team and lead from the front setting the standard on duty management shifts.

  • You will have the knowledge and expertise to develop the business.
  • You will be an experienced leisure professional.
  • You will have pool plant management experience and a pool plant qualification is desirable.
  • You have experience of managing health & safety.
  • You will be a strong people management and communication skills.
  • You will have the passion to drive operational efficiencies that promote a look and feel to the club that exceeds member satisfaction.
