Report to: Head Greenkeeper

Job Purpose

Working as part of the Greenkeeping team, you will be responsible for maintaining external areas of the club house in addition to ensuring the driving range is maintained to an excellent standard at all times

Responsibilities

  • Golf balls are picked and are of good standard to be supplied back into the ball machine
  • To recover balls using the range buggy or by hand when weather prevents use of buggy
  • To deliver an excellent service to the customer whilst on the driving range; litter free, baskets are collected regularly from the bays,  mats are in good condition and properly positioned
  • To keep the car park litter free and sweep all steps and path ways daily
  • Maintenance of the buggies; including cleanliness, safe working order, getting them out ready for use and putting them away
  • Keep the shoe cleaner and trolley wash off area clean
  • Keep the club house gardens and islands in car park weed and litter free
  • Tidy, close and secure the ball store
  • Clean and check supplies in the club house & halfway house; toilets daily
  •  Help green keeping team with golf course maintenance and other duties
  •  Maintain practice areas. Check they are free from balls and repair divots and pitch marks
  •  To carry out duties as might be reasonably required for development and efficient operation of the golf course
  •  To keep ball machine serviceable and carry out operating adjustments if necessary
  •  Carry out all tasks in line with the standard operation procedure
  •  To minimise and eliminate any risk to health and safety by taking adequate precautions in the discharge of these duties
  •  Carry out internal cleaning duties

Skills

The role holder must be competent in working in all weather conditions. Basic mechanical skills are required however full training will be given. There is significant lifting involved. Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions and act on own initiative when working. Excellent communication skills are required and a courteous approach is required at all times towards colleagues, visitors and members.

The role is 30 hours per week, which includes weekends and attracts an hourly rate of £7.83 per hour.
