We have a fabulous opportunity for an EPos Database Analyst to join the Welcome Break Support Centre in Newport Pagnell, Bucks.

Welcome Break operates an expressive portfolio of well-known retail and food service brands that operate across our 27 UK sites, including Waitrose, WH Smiths, Starbucks, Burger King, KFC, PRET, Harry Ramsdens, Chopstix and Harry Ramsdens together with the forecourt brands of BP and Shell.

The Database Analyst will join the Database team reporting into the Database Manager. The successful candidate will join a team of 4 Analysts who manage the central databases for Welcome Breaks EPOS and Forecourt systems together with the product configuration of our customer self-serve kiosks and the media content management for the above brands.

Role responsbilities:

As a Database Analyst you responsibilities will include:

  • The management and maintenance of product data including retail prices, cost prices, barcode details, inventory management and profit margin information within our Head Office databases (Retalix and Red Prairie).
  • Management and delivery of the database deliverables for promotions and campaign launches.
  • Investigation and resolution of site queries regarding data variances raised from our site based customers within defined SLAs including logging and updating reported issues on our Service Desk application to facilitate reporting metrics.
  • The creation and maintenance of customer order flow and imagery within the Content Management platform for our self-serve kiosks.
  • The upload and scheduling of content for our POS customer media and digital menu boards.
  • Delivery against all key data processes surrounding Commercial Operation activities.
  • Participation and delivery in any service improvements and optimisation activities across the brand range.To support the data requirements of project activity and new brand openings during implementation phases and to deliver against all key requirements once in-service.
  • To proactively create and update documentation, and knowledge share under defined working practises.

The work undertaken by the Database team is business critical, ensuring all Welcome Break sites are selling the right products at the right prices and ensuring accurate stock management. This role is crucial for the business to operate effectively as Welcome Break delivers against its existing brand portfolio and continues to grow.

All data requests are submitted to the team through many customer streams with activities being scheduled and allocated by the Database Manager, however the successful candidate will need the proven aptitude to take full ownership of activities they are responsible for delivering. Attention to detail and diligent application of brand guidelines is also an essential requirement when entering the data in to all Welcome Break systems.

  • Experience of product and pricing management within the Retail/Hospitality industry would also be beneficial
