Senior Analyst, Revenue Forecast - Shore Based - Southampton

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Analyst, Revenue Forecast within the P&O Revenue Management department at Carnival UK’s Head office in Southampton.

Role Purpose

  • The overall purpose of the role is to take the lead in delivering credible and timely outputs, including both financial forecasts & business performance measures. 
  • This will be achieved by thorough analysis of the Carnival UK datasets and working closely with key stakeholders to understand and measure our key commercial drivers and how they impact our P&L. 
  • In addition the role will work closely with other revenue analysts and with the science team to analyse performance to plan and highlight risks and opportunities.

 

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Provide a monthly revenue forecast, considering market and fare type mixes, through collaboration with all P&L line owners

  • Drive change through the analyst community through influencing, coaching and mentoring

  • Conduct periodic reviews of business performance against plan to understand trends and highlight risks and opportunities

  • Focus on centralisation, standardisation and automation to drive process improvements and efficiencies and produce insight/intelligence for informed decision making

  • Implement our revenue management system (YODA) into the forecast process

  • Work in collaboration with the Science community to understand trends and anomalies, working closely to eliminate future issues

  • Review and articulate trading performance at performance review meetings and other nominated forums as necessary, including written report formats as required

  • Challenge revenue forecast processes to drive through strategic change across the organisation

  • Drive team engagement and engendering a positive team spirit and work ethic             

                  

Budget Management / Financial Responsibilities / Revenue / Sales / Cost Management / Cost Control

  • Compile a monthly financial submission to our Commercial Finance colleagues and ensure it reflects the strategic plans and ambition of the business

  • To work with key stakeholders to ensure our financial submission is accurately reflecting revenue and costs on each line item           

  • To work with key stakeholders to provide insight into variance to Annual Plan or previous forecast iterations for each P&L line

  • To identify revenue and cost risks and opportunities, prioritising those where improvements could be most significant

  • To ensure our financial submissions are delivered timely in accordance with company’s procedures

  • Provide the business with phased volume and revenue targets to ensure the business can measure performance against plan

  • Plan for and run multiple scenarios as required, to help optimise business decision making              

              

Customer Responsibilities (Internal & External Customers)

  • Articulate strategy and performance with stakeholders to gain approval for proposals

  • Use relationship management & stakeholder engagement skills to influence internal customers

  • Fully understand the pricing, product, distribution and promotion strategy of the brand

  • Identify and develop strong relationships with peers within Commercial and across CUK

  • Actively seek ways to improve individual and department performance based on stakeholder feedback

  • Identify, establish and attend regular review meetings with appropriate departments to deliver requirements of the role and the department

 

Work Based Competencies                                                                        

  • Highly numerate with strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and communicate findings

  • Highly computer literate with strong working knowledge of Excel / Access & VBA

Education, Qualifications and Training

Essential:

  • GCSEs – including Mathematics, English and a Science or equivalent qualification
  • A Level – including Mathematics and or a Science or equivalent qualification

Desirable:

  • HND – Business related subject or equivalent qualification
  • Degree – Business Studies or other business related subject or Mathematics or Science or equivalent qualification

 

Experience

Essential:

  • Proven strong experience working in an analytical role
  • Proven experience in pricing and/or revenue management

Desirable:                             

  • Experience in dealing with multiple market pricing and optimisation
