Job role

The Allocator’s role is to control the movement of stock from our distribution centre (DC) to our stores using our in-house IT systems. The allocator will work with the buying and merchandising teams to get the right stock in the right place at the right time.

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Controlling the movement of stock from our distribution centre (DC) to our stores
  • Preparing all the required stock for new store openings ahead of launch
  • Monitoring and amending stock replenishment levels to ensure that stores maximize their sales potential but do not become overstocked
  • Clearing stock out of the DC ahead of markdown periods
  • Regular contact with store managers to address any potential stock related issues
  • Daily contact with the buying and merchandising teams to make sure we are sending stock in line with their plans
  • Daily contact with the DC to ensure that all new stock is allocated via cross-dock and moves to stores in a timely manner
What skills and experience will you need ?
  • The candidate should be numerate and needs and eye for detail and the ability to interpret sales and stock data from spreadsheets and our reporting systems
  • Full training will be given on in-house systems, but competency with Microsoft Excel is beneficial
  • Adaptability, a calm head and the ability to keep on top of changing priorities is essential
  • High street retail experience is beneficial
