Carnival UK are recruiting for an influential Financial Accountant to work within the Corporate Accounting Team. This is an opportunity to join the expanding Corporate Finance team in a senior position, based at our Southampton office.
As Financial Accountant, you will drive the figures that are reported to our corporate head office in Miami. Naturally, you will need to understand and track judgemental accounting areas across the business to ensure integrity of the results reported.

They will also be responsible for the monthly and quarterly deliverables for head office - "All Brands Group" and the external auditors.
Your knowledge of team and stakeholder management with experience of collaborative working, coupled with the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels will support the function's ability to deliver timely and accurate results.
Responsibilities:

• Ensure that accounting for VAT, legal claims and Insurance is robust and compliant
• Work with and manage the relationships with internal stakeholders and external auditors
• Directly leading and inspiring a team to continually develop themselves and their processes to ensure accurate delivery to deadlines
• Driving the financial control agenda all across Finance.
• Accountable for GL close and GL integrity
• Review SOX controls completed by your team, while applying a continuous improvement mindset
• Working closely with the legal team

For this position you will be a qualified Financial Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) with general finance, financial reporting and accounting exposure. Ideally, you will also be able to demonstrate your knowledge of team management and financial systems as well as SOX, IFRS and / or US GAAP.
