We are recruiting to a new role of Healthy Communities Manager. This role will provide the lead in determining and executing the strategy that seeks to inspire inactive people to commence a healthier lifestyle.

What your role will be

You will deliver our health 'proposition' to have extensive appeal to our communities, particularly the inactive, and engage them fully in a healthy and active lifestyle. You will work with senior leadership colleagues to maximise the commercial opportunities derived from a prolonged and sustained commitment to exercise and physical activity.

You will identify opportunities in the local area and implement new projects and you will review our current approach to health engagement and work with internal and external stakeholders to redefine our strategy. You will ensure that you are building relationships with key partners, community groups and organisations.

PFP leisure is part of the Places for People Group, as such you will be required to build relationships with stakeholders in the wider group such as our social housing and neighbourhoods divisions to help drive social value both for the group and for PFP leisure.

Your background

To achieve in this highly visible role you will have worked with senior managers in delivering a strategic plan which supports the initiatives of external stakeholders. To do this you will possess knowledge of the public health landscape and have had experience working with local authorities in progressing their community health agenda, either directly or indirectly.

You will be a strong communicator who is comfortable being an “agent for change”, someone who has a track record in influencing others, at all levels, to help deliver strategic goals. In addition to being a strategic thinker you will also need a broad commercial understanding to ensure that our health strategy is deliverable at an operational level both practically and commercially.

About us

Places for People Leisure is a leading leisure and wellness partner delivering fitness, sport, health and wellbeing. We have recently successfully been awarded a 15 year contract for the management of Wokingham Borough Councils Leisure Facilities. From refurbishing centres across the area to new facilities opening in 2018, 2020 and 2022 we will be providing excellent facilities catering to the various needs of the communities around us.
