We have started our search for the stars of the future and have an exciting opportunity for a budding Apprentice Chef at Northcote at The Rovers, at Ewood Park. The Apprentice Chef scheme is for those who share our passion for quality, local, seasonal produce and warm hospitality, so if you have an appetite for a real career opportunity then this could prove very tempting.

Achieving a place on the scheme will see you gaining practical hands-on experience whilst working towards NVQ levels 2 – 3.  You will train and work in a thriving business that will help launch your career within a team of highly talented, hard-working professionals.

You will receive thorough training throughout your Apprenticeship with us which includes:

• A full months induction before hitting the kitchen floor.
• Company History and Ethos, policies and procedures and statutory training.
• Basic Skills Training including where relevant knife skills, supplier and recipe familiarisation, project work and more.
• Training on the basics of all sections within the kitchen such as pastry, fish, meat, sauce.

Further on the job skills that are required for the position chosen by you.

Theory study is built in at college one day per week so you can take a blended approach to your learning on either a two / three year programme, dependent on entry level. Performance is monitored continuously and at the end of each placement the Head Chef / General Manager at the location will complete a detailed report on your development. You will also have on the job assessments and observations with your Tutor towards your qualification.

You will be provided with full Chef whites, aprons and trousers, which will be purchased by the Company, unless individual wants to purchase own.
