We are the largest privately-held pub operator in the UK and we’re looking for an experienced General Manager to join our team at Stonegate.

We are looking to recruit a live-out General Manager for Slug & Lettuce in Woking, Surrey. The business is a one room operation located on Chobham Road in the middle of Woking, close to the shopping centre and has a great circuit of pubs and restaurants in the area. Following an Investment in 2016, the Slug & Lettuce has a great contemporary look with a friendly, upbeat and lively vibe where people meet to eat and drink together whatever the occasion. The business, a one bar operation with clever zoning and raised areas, is all about quality with a good reputation for service, great food and of course, the famous Slug & Lettuce cocktail offer. At the Weekend this is the perfect place for a party with music; the late license means it’s open until 1am with a buzzing, playful atmosphere.

This could be a fantastic opportunity for an internal Accelerator Deputy Manager looking for their first General Manager position. You will be someone with a charismatic personality who understands the key trading levers that are the USPs in a Slug & Lettuce and able to drive sales through innovative marketing, maximising the growing pre-booked sales trend and developing reasons to visit by using social media to its’ full potential. It is essential that the General Manager has absolute understanding of what a quality offer looks like; excellent, consistent food and drink delivery, outstanding operational standards, and a passion for fantastic customer service. We are looking for a General Manager who has the ability to be creative and dynamic whilst having proven business management skills to deliver bottom line profit. You will be someone who is an inspirational Leader with a true belief in recruiting great people, training and coaching them to develop an exceptional team that has a passion for working in hospitality and delighting their Customers.

You will need to be able to demonstrate great leadership skills and the ability to build a high performing team in order to control, develop and improve all aspects of the business including: P&L, people, standards, legal compliance, service and brand integrity.
