What is the main purpose of the role?
You will support the Head Chef, Senior Pastry Chef and Pastry team to ensure high standards of cuisine are always met. Participates in and supervises the preparation and cooking of food in accordance with established recipe cards and methods. Have the desire to be trained to cover other sections of the kitchen as decided by the Head Chef. Ensures all dishes are correctly garnished before being sent to relevant outlets.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal Pastry Chef should be fully aware and able to comply with the following:
• Hotel Evacuation procedures
• Health & Hygiene Policy and Procedures
• Food Hygiene Regulations
• Health & Safety Procedures
• Current Licensing Regulations
• Accident report procedure
Experience working within a busy kitchen in the same or a similar role is essential, and it would be advantageous for this to have been in a hotel kitchen. Most of all we are looking for someone with a real passion for food and the drive to succeed in a new role and patricularly a creative interest in pastry.
