Night Manager - Langho, Blackburn

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE(S):

  • To consistently maintain high standards of customer service.
  • To undertake duties as outlined below, while maintaining the security of the building and assisting customers in their requirements.

 MAIN TASKS:

  • To be fully conversant with the companies aims and objectives and to play a pro-active role in their achievements.
  • Once customers have retired, to tidy all front of house areas (plump cushions, polish table tops), ready for Housekeeping to hoover and deep clean the next morning.
  • To set up the restaurant and private dining room in line with the next day’s business requirements.
  • To ensure all crockery, cutlery and glasses have been washed, polished and put away as appropriate.
  • Place all dirty linens from service and kitchen areas to the linen room.
  • To ensure everything is ready for breakfast service the next morning and that the wash and service areas are clean and tidy.
  • To lay fires ready for the next day’s business.
  • To restock the bar ready for the next days business.
  • To check hourly each entrance and exit is secure and to check each floor for hazards and security.
  • To act as the Fire Warden in the case of the Fire Alarm activating.
  • To undertake any task list as requested by General Manager or Shift Manager in charge during handover see checklist.
  • To provide early morning check out services to customers, including, taking payments, providing, tea, coffee and light breakfasts (including any early express room service breakfast), bills, early morning wake up calls, etc.
  •  To put all food and beverage items into the bill system after 23.00 from service, in preparation for check outs in the morning.
  • To complete the night audit and back up tapes.
  • To prepare morning Mise en Place sheets for manager. Prepare handover notes on anything manager / reception should be aware of.
  •  To communicate with colleagues openly and fairly at all times and promote mutual respect within the Northcote Team.

Benefits:

45 hour contract / 5 nights per week

10pm to 7am – shift pattern including weekends

Competitive Salary

The ideal candidate will have previous hotel experience, along with experience of working nights and customer service.
