Job SummaryThe role of Commis Chef is vitally important to our culinary team. Areas of focus include all food preparation areas including Banquets, Room Service, Restaurant, bar/lounge and associate canteen to ensure a consistent, high quality food products.Specific duties include:
  • Ensuring that you have full product knowledge of all menu items
  • Supplying the highest possible levels of customer care and service whether in the public eye or in the Heart of the House.
  • To assist the Senior Culinary team in all aspects of the day to day running of the Kitchen.
  • To assist in the running of a kitchen section under the guidance of the Senior Chefs.
  • To be capable of taking charge of any section in the kitchen and running it competently.
  • To act upon training given by the Senior Chefs and to be enthusiastic in completion of jobs that are set.

  • To ensure the kitchen is clean and tidy at all times.
  • To be capable of preparing dishes with a minimum of wastage.
  • To be fully aware of the Accident Reporting Procedure. Maintenance Fault Procedure and Fire Policy and to understand how the hotel Health and Safety Policy affects your department and how it links in with the rest of the hotel.
Clean and maintain all areas through the Kitchen areas. Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications.
