Safety & Compliance Officer-Brighton - Brighton
About The Role
We’re looking to recruit a friendly, efficient and enthusiastic individual into our team to monitor and carry out efficient and effective safety checks on all race days to ensure customer safety and security is safeguarded at all times during their visit to our stadium.Carry out daily inspections according to the current H&S checklists as required, this includes, pre-open checklist, closing checklist, weekly, monthly and yearly checklists To be knowledgeable of H&S updates and requirements and to liaise with Stadia’s H&S Manager to implement such updates, relevant policies, procedures and workplace rules Carry out safety audits as required Maintain an audit trail of appropriate records and documentation to support compliance to all relevant and applicable legislation Coordinate with the Local Authority, Police, Fire and Ambulance Services and any other body e.g. Safety Advisory Group in the relation to the maintenance of the Safety Certificate Conduct drills: conduct drills, such as fire drills, to ensure equipment is properly functioning and colleagues are aware of what to do in an emergency Inspections: inspect the workplace for potential hazards, identify potential hazards, assess the risks and report potential hazards
Additional Information
A level 4 spectator safety qualification is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.This position reports to the Stadia Retail Operations Manager. The Salary is from £20,000 to £25,000 depending on experience and qualifications. The minimum contracted hours is 40 (5 day out of 7 days including evening and weekends) on a fully flexible base. These hours may increase during and or after probation period to cover holidays and sicknesses.The working pattern is on a rota basis and will include weekend and evening work, so the successful candidate will need to be fully flexible and be required to work within a framework of flexible start/finish times and be able to work from Monday to Sunday inclusive. S/he will be required to be available to work additional shifts on any Sky nights and Boxing day to support the business needs.
