Located in Newbury, Berkshire, just off junction 13 on the M4 and 55 minutes away from London by train, The Vineyard is a 5 red star hotel. We are currently recruiting for a Guest Services Assistant to join our Guest Services, to join their team on a full time, permanent contract, working 40 hours per week, 5 out of 7 days, as a 365 day business you may be required to work evenings/weekends/bank holidays.

We are looking for a Guest Services Assistant, who is dedicated, hard working, polite and customer focused individual who possesses excellent communication skills with strong spoken and written English skills.

Summary of role:
Act as the main point of contact for all guests and ensure that they provide the highest possible service to ensure the ultimate guest satisfaction. To also act as the central point for all knowledge within the hotel and to constantly look for ways to improve the overall guest journey.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To ensure the smooth day to day running of Guest Services
  • Ensure the implementation of the “1st ten minute experience”
  • Provide a warm and welcoming greeting and departure for all guests
  • Ensure that repeat guests and other VIPs receive special recognition and service
  • Maintains open communication channels with all other departments
  • Oversees the maintenance of an efficient repeat guest history system
  • Check VIP and special guest’s rooms as required
  • Inform senior management of special guest related problems
  • Handle guest complaints and refer them as necessary
  • Attend to the guest’s needs promptly and efficiently
  • Maintain an active presence in the front hall area
  • Promote hotel facilities
  • Be familiar with all hotel services, offers, promotions and special events
  • Have a good knowledge of the local area and its attractions
  • Conduct courtesy calls on VIPs as required after check in
  • To assist in the smooth flow of the guest’s journey throughout the day
  • Assist with showground’s in liaison with the Events team
  • Performs other reasonable duties as directed by the management team
  • To encourage and develop a good working relationship with the other departments
  • Ensures perfect levels of uniform are adhered to
  • To abide by Health and Safety Regulations as required by Law

In order to be successful in this role as a Guest Services Assistant, you will need to have great experience in customer facing roles, preferably within a 4/5* Hotel environment.
