The Borough of Broxbourne is in south east Hertfordshire, bordering London and the M25, with a population of about 93,600. Stratford International railway station is 25 minutes away by train and there is good access to airports and the rest of the country. Broxbourne is a Green Belt borough that contains much of the Lee Valley Regional Park and is home to the Lee Valley White Water Centre which hosted canoeing events at the London Olympics in 2012. Broxbourne is promoting high quality development while seeking to conserve its towns, villages and beautiful countryside.
A Duty Manager has a day-to-day responsibility for the operation of the sports centre, working with section heads/staff in all facility areas, including fitness and food and beverages.
Successful applicants should ideally have experience working in a busy leisure environment and hold a current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification and a First Aid at Work certificate. A National Pool Lifeguard Trainer Assessor qualification is desirable but not essential. Previous experience of supervising and organising staff would also be beneficial.
This role requires an enhanced disclosure check that the Council will pay for.
The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential in this post.
