Garment Technologist - Ladies Outerwear and Maternity

We are now recruiting for a highly talented Technologist who will be based at our George Head Office in Lutterworth, Leicestershire. The role will report to the Senior Technical Manager, and will work closely with the Product teams across this key area of the business.

The Ins & Outs
  • Ensure all products George sell are Safe and compliant with UK/EU and Walmart standards
  • Responsible to deliver block developments and garment innovations adding value to product and reducing costs by product engineering
  • Deliver a consistent fit and quality perception that exceeds our customer expectations through competitor shop for Blocks/Fit, Fabric and Quality Trend
  • Attend all relevant meetings, provide updates with ICO teams
  • Co-ordinate UK Warehouse and CFS audit: High Profile lines, Inspection in warehouse prior to store delivery action and manage findings on any RISK styles/outside of process
  • CFS/RDC Follow up any refusals/rejections with Teams and suppliers, including Finance
  • Internal and external measures such as returns rates, competitor Quality benchmarking
  • Cross functional working within all aspect of the George/ASDA/Walmart business.
  • Responsible for the delivery of functional performance metrics including fit - 0/1/2 route, seal approvals and customer returns. Year on Year improvement
  • Responsible to drive a right product - right supplier - right 1st time approach in line with the George technical process
  • Overall accountability for the Product Development cycle from concept to delivery working to the George critical path
  • Deliver improvements by influencing and communicating with the supplier and ICO teams
  • Monitor and improve ES and FCCA audits with your ICO teams

What you'll need:
  • Good knowledge of garment production, systems and processes
  • Experience of off-shore manufacturing
  • Creative ability - able to 'think outside the box'
  • Influencing skills
  • A good communicator and clear management skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work well within a team and also independently
