We are currently accepting applications for the position of Weekend Night Porter for the Belfry Hotel and Golf Resort, Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands.

The Resort has been awarded ‘England’s Leading Resort & England’s Best Golf Hotel’ the past two years and ‘Europe’s Best Golf Resort’ 2016. The Belfry is proud of its rich sporting history and heritage, hosting the Ryder Cup four times in 1985, 1989, 1993 & 2002.

Scope of The Role:

To ensure the needs of all guests are attended to in a friendly and efficient manner and to ensure that all tasks are carried out in accordance with the departments standard operating procedures. To support the night managers in all aspects of running a successful night operation

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all guests needs and enquiries are dealt with promptly and in an efficient and courteous manner.
  • Meet and greet guests upon arrival at the hotel, assisting with their luggage and other items
  • To store guest belongings in the porter’s lodge when requested using the secure area for valuable items.
  • Ensure the porters lodge is kept clean and tidy
  • Ensure the main reception area is kept clean and tidy
  • Ensure the outside area of main reception is kept clean and tidy
  • Assist guests with luggage to and from bedrooms as required
  • Provide information to guests and visitors of facilities and services within the hotel and surrounding areas.
  • Check bedroom corridors regularly for used room service trays and when found clear them away
  • Handover all relevant information to the day porters when they arrive on shift
  • Input wake up calls
  • Deliver room service orders to bedrooms
  • Prepare and deliver early room service breakfast to bedrooms
  • Carry out floor walks to collect early breakfast cards
  • Prepare sandwiches and fries for room service orders in the absence of a night chef
  • Ordering distribution and return of unsold papers
  • Carry out stock check of room service drinks at the beginning and end of each shift
  • Accurate completion of all departmental administration
  • Undertake any training relevant and necessary to the job
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties in your own and other departments as requested by the night manager, to ensure the successful running of the night operation as a whole
  • Carry out other duties that may be necessary from time to time
