Commercial Finance Manager - Trading Reporting and Analysis - Financial Planning and Analysis - FP&A

About the role:

The Finance team play a key role in the success at ASDA and the Financial Planning (FP&A) team are very much at the heart of Finance with our Exec board and Wal-Mart as our key customers.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the team, being responsible for analysing and providing insight to ASDA's Trading performance. The candidate will be expected to use their analytical skills, judgement and network that they develop to really understand our trading performance, giving visibility of the right issues at the right time and supporting in driving performance.

In summary this is a commercial and analytical role and you will require strong influencing and networking skills to work at all levels of the Finance team. The ins and outs:

• Monitoring performance against plan/forecast/external market and proactively driving analysis to understand, evaluate, challenge and improve trading performance
• Providing trading insight into weekly and monthly business performance reviews
• Aligning and engaging stakeholders across the Finance team, Customer Insight and wider business on sales and margin performance
• Being the team champion for trading MI and analytical techniques

• Strong commercial awareness - ability to critically evaluate and clearly articulate commercial performance
• An analytical mind, with an eye for detail; a curiosity to understand performance and how things work
• Strong interpersonal, communication and organisation skills to build credible relationships and influence all levels of the Finance team
• Competent excel / modelling skills and ideally you will have knowledge of Asda's systems (Essbase, SAP)
• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
